Alfred W. Campbell, M.D.
Dr. Campbell grew up in Junction, Texas. He received a bachelor’s
degree in Biology at Texas A&M University. After receiving his M.D.
degree at the University of Texas at Houston, he undertook residency
training in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of Texas
Southwestern in Dallas with special emphasis on hematopathology
and genitourinary pathology and is board certified in Anatomic and
Clinical Pathology. He then entered private practice with Valley Pathology
Associates in Roanoke, Virginia, where he remained for eight years prior
to joining Spartanburg Pathology Consultants in April 2006. During that
time he served in multiple roles including laboratory Medical Director of
the seven hospital system, Medical Director for histology, President of
Dominion Pathology Associates, President of the Roanoke Valley Academy
of Medicine, President of the Virginia Society for Pathology, 2nd Vice President
for the Medical Society of Virginia, and numerous other activities including
involvement in the American Medical Association and College of American
Rosanna L. Lapham, M.D.
Rosanna L. Lapham, native of Victoria, Texas has practiced pathology in the Spartanburg area since 1998. She received her bachelor of science degree from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas and received her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Dr. Lapham underwent training in pathology at The University of Dundee Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, Scotland and the University of Texas in Houston. In addition she completed a year of surgical pathology specialist training in tumor pathology at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Dr. Lapham is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathology and is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology. Before settling in Spartanburg, Dr. Lapham was an assistant professor in the Department of Pathology at the University of Texas in Houston and spent one year in Gisborne, New Zealand as the only pathologist living in and serving the entire northeast cape of New Zealand. Dr. Lapham has an interest in genitourinary pathology and has published articles in this field. She also is director of the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center and Celligent Diagnostics South Carolina Histology Departments. She is active in the Gibbs Cancer Center and is seen presenting at many of the local tumor boards and is also in charge of pathology education for medical students and residents. Dr. Lapham also directs the quality assurance programs for Carolinas Pathology Group in South Carolina.

attended medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina.
After completing a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology
in the Department of Pathology at the Medical University of South
Carolina, he did a fellowship in surgical pathology at
Johns-Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, M.D. Prior to joining
Spartanburg Pathology Associates, he was in private practice at
Harris Regional Medical Center in Sylva, North Carolina for three
years and was the laboratory director of Swain County Hospital,
a Medical Examiner, and regional forensic pathologist. He is a
Diplomate of the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and
Clinical Pathology. He has interests in gastrointestinal and genitourinary
pathology, and general surgical pathology. He is the Medical
Director of the Mary Black Memorial Hospital Laboratory.

Washington University-Barnes Hospital and in dermatopathology at
Wake Forest-Baptist Medical Center. Dr. Smith completed a prostate
pathology rotation under the direction of Peter Humphrey, M.D., Ph.D.
at Washington University Medical Center. Dr. Smith is board certified
in anatomic and clinical pathology as well as dermatopathology.
